Just in case you haven’t yet made the switch,  this natural water filter made from activated charcoal lasts much longer than all other filters, is affordable, looks unique and beautiful AND avoids the use of plastics. Best of all, it not only removes toxins, it mineralises and purifies tap water, improving taste and balancing  pH.

Until now, it’s only been available as individual sticks – perfect for using in jugs at home. But now KURO-Bō has just got more awesome: introducing KURO-Bō Activated Charcoal Kōins. KURO-Bō is mobile!

NEW! KURO-Bō ON THE MOVE!

With KURO-Bō’s BRAND NEW Gō-Ecō Glass Water Bottle and KURO-Bō Activated Charcoal Kōins, there is now zero excuse to ever go single-use plastic again when it comes to travelling with your water.

Here’s how it works:

KURO-Bō Activated Charcoal (Binchotan) is created through an ancient Japanese technique where high quality hardwood is baked in a kiln, at temperatures of over 1000ºC, until it becomes carbonised. Through this process KURO-Bō Activated Charcoal becomes a highly porous natural filter and when placed in tap water, naturally adsorbs (this is the process whereby toxins adhere to the charcoal) and removes toxins, while enriching it with beneficial minerals, turning ordinary tap water, good borehole water, rain water, spring water in fact any water into filtered water, with a delicious and more refreshing taste. It also remineralises reverse-osmosis water.

Watch the video here.

Time to exchange your rands for Kōins, they’re the new currency for turning ordinary tap water into fresh-tasting mineralised water!

For more in-depth information about this ancient technology, read our previous post about all the benefits of KURO-Bō.

Hi there, thanks for your query. The Koins should fit in the 1 litre glass Consol bottles, as they have a similar size mouth to our Go-Eco bottles but because the charcoal is a natural product and will have slight variations in size we can’t promise that. However for your reference, the average Koin diameter is 2-2.5cm so use that as a guideline – they will, of course always fit in the Go-Eco bottle though 😉
