What better way to start your week than with a brand new product from the (happy!) people who brought you their innovative Red Lentil Pasta and Chickpea Pasta: the Mung-day Cleanse made by the Happy Earth People

Regular gentle cleansing is the perfect way to remove toxins from the digestive tract.

So Happy Earth People have designed this fragrant Ayurvedic liquid cleanse to provide an easy, not-so-scary way to detox. Leaving you feeling lighter and brighter with more energy.

All you need to do is soak Mungday protein mix for at least 2 hours or overnight in water. Drain, rinse and put it in a large pot. Add zucchini and a carrot, a teaspoon of extra virgin coconut or olive oil, Mungday spice blend and boiling water. Bring to the boil then turn down to simmer.

When the mung is cooked, blend broth with a stick blender. Serve hot with a sprinkle of salt, pepper and a generous squeeze of lemon.

Cooking time is about 30 mins. Drink for all three meals or sip throughout the day.

Overall benefits include:

  • Better elimination
  • Improved digestion
  • Reduced cravings (especially for processed sugar, bread, pasta, meat, alcohol and eating out)
  • Stabilised blood sugar
  • Feeling lighter and brighter with more energy
  • Improved complexion
  • A greater appreciation of food generally
  • An increased awareness of the difference between true hunger and boredom
  • Slow, steady weight-loss or easy weight-maintenance

Mungday Cleanse contains the following super power ingredients:

  • Mungday plant-protein mix: (Moohng dahl also known as yellow split mung bean provides an easily digestible plant-protein, Organic brown rice)
  • Mungday spice blend mix

This blend of mung beans and rice heals and soothes the intestinal wall.

With 95 percent of the body’s serotonin is produced in the gut, it is clear we process our stress through the intestinal wall. Chronic stress will irritate the intestinal wall and compromise digestion, the ability to detoxify through the gut and cope with stress. During a Mungday cleanse, the digestive system can heal. Eating just the yellow split mung beans and rice as a “mono diet” allows much of the digestion to be at rest during the cleanse, providing the nutrition needed to heal the gut and nourish the body

Mungday Spice Blend & Benefits:

  • Organic ginger: offers anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcer and antioxidant activities. Ginger is also considered one of the best detoxifying spices.
  • Organic turmeric: the benefits of this golden spice seem endless. Some include anti-inflammatory, increased antioxidant activities, and detoxification of the liver and blood.
  • Organic garam masala: A traditional recipe often contains black peppercorns, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, nutmeg and cumin. They’re all carefully combined and blended for a balanced flavour, which is warming and somewhat sweet but totally sugar-free. Benefits include improved digestive fire, prevention of constipation and overall health booster.
  • Organic cumin: aids metabolic function, is immune boosting and used to treat stomach problems.

Asafoetida also called hing: lowers blood pressure, stabilises blood sugar levels and reduces gas.

It’s recommended to have a ‘Mungday’ once a week – choosing a Monday is a good way to start the week! So turn your Mondays into Mungdays!
